There are a number of details you need to consider before purchasing a ladder for your pool. Royal Pools & Spas customer service representatives will help you make the best choice.

• Type of pool: above ground pool or in ground pool, temporary pool
  In-ground pools often have permanent ladders.
  • An above ground pool without a deck or a temporary pool may require a free standing above-ground pool ladder that can be placed in the pool during the summer months and removed when colder weather arrives.
• Depth of pool
• Age of those using the pool: A wide ladder may be more appropriate for younger children allowing them to carry pool-appropriate outdoor play items in and out of the water more easily. Likewise older adults often need a sturdier, wider ladder for stability and support while getting in and out of the pool.
• Pool step thickness: The thickness of the pool ladder’s steps is important for the proper placement of the feet while getting in and out of the pool. Each pool ladder design offers different specifications.
  Thin steps are often desirable when space is at a premium, or maximizing the water area regardless of the pool’s size is important. However, thicker steps provide more support and stability.
